Gamers can get their hands on one of the most critically acclaimed games of the year at a discount thanks to Amazon’s deal on Elden Ring.
Amazon has begun its round of early Black Friday deals, offering limited-time discounts on Elden Ring among many other popular games and products. Since Elden Ring was only released earlier this year, it’s uncommon to see such a recent title receive discounts that are usually reserved for much later in a game’s life cycle.
FromSoftware’s Elden Ring was highly anticipated from the start, as an open-world follow-up to the developer’s extremely popular line of tough-but-fair action RPGs like Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Sekiro. The game delivered on the hype when it was released in February, and Elden Ring received perfect scores from many reviewers citing its satisfying gameplay and exploration, vast and intriguing world, and engaging environmental storytelling. Like its predecessors, Elden Ring is host to a sizeable roster of notoriously challenging bosses, and much of the enjoyment players get out of the game comes from overcoming these hurdles by gradually improving after repeated failed attempts.
As part of Amazon’s early Black Friday offerings, a variety of games have been given discounts ahead of the famous retail holiday. Currently, Elden Ring can be purchased for Xbox One, PS4, and PS5 for $49.94, or 17% off its usual $59.99 price, while the Xbox digital code is available at $54.99. It’s a rare opportunity to grab the game at a lower price than usual, considering that Elden Ring has so far not offered any discounts on the popular Steam platform since it was released. Thanks to its widespread acclaim, this game will likely be high on the wishlists of many gamers for the holidays.
Besides the discount on Elden Ring, other titles available on sale include Capcom’s Resident Evil Village, Bandai Namco’s Tales of Arise, Square Enix’s Life Is Strange: True Colors, and Arkane Lyon’s Deathloop. These games alone should keep even the savviest gamers occupied for plenty of time, and shoppers can likely look forward to plenty more sales as the holidays approach.
Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
